Kimberly Williams and Shanieka Thomas will seek to hop, skip and jump onto the medal podium when they contest the women’s triple jump final at 6:30 a.m.

Going into the final, Williams, who placed fourth at the last World Championships, has the sixth longest jump of 14.23m.

The 28-year-old will no doubt be aiming to get back to her lifetime best of 14.62m or at least improve on her season best of 14.34m.

Thomas should already be feeling like a winner having made it to the finals of a major championship on her first attempt.

The 23-year-old recorded the eighth longest jump in the qualifying round of 14.05m, but will have her sights set on improving her personal best of 14.23m which was set in August of this year.
