Manchester United have started a Barclays Premier League season with three successive clean sheets for only the third time, winning two, drawing one, scoring just two goals and conceding none.

And Sergio Romero, who has replaced David de Gea ahead of a potential move away from Old Trafford, is the first goalkeeper since David Ospina to keep a clean sheet in each of his first three Premier League games.

Yet, at the other end, Wayne Rooney is looking to score for the first time in the Premier League since April. Since then Rooney has failed to score in nine league games and a total of 774 minutes - 12 hours and 54 minutes.

In six previous meetings with Swansea, Rooney has scored just once - on the opening day of last season.

However, he should be confident after netting a hat-trick against Club Brugge on Wednesday in the second leg of the Champions League play-off. United won 4-0 and 7-1 on aggregate.

Last season Swansea did the league double over United, winning 2-1 both at Old Trafford and the Liberty Stadium.
