Bravo puts Dolphins in final
DURBAN, South Africa (CMC):
West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo produced a superb penultimate over under pressure to help propel Dolphins to a tense five-run victory over Cape Cobras and into the final of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge here on Wednesday.
Chasing 179 for victory, Cape Cobras found themselves on the brink of victory at Kingsmead, requiring 13 runs from the last 12 balls of the semi-final contest.
However, medium pacer Bravo came up big when it mattered most, conceding just four runs, while grabbing the wicket of Robin Peterson for three, caught at mid-on off a low full toss.
He finished with one for 27 from his four overs.
Emrit stars in Bangladesh
MIRPUR, Bangladesh (CMC):
Trinidad and Tobago's Rayad Emrit struck a brilliant unbeaten half-century to follow up an incisive spell as he helped Barisal Bulls to an important morale-boosting two-wicket victory over Dhaka Dynamites in the final game of the Bangladesh Premier League preliminary round yesterday.
In pursuit of 137 for victory at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Bulls got home with two balls to spare, thanks to Emrit's splendid 54 not out off 28 deliveries with six fours and two sixes.
While the game was of academic interest only because both teams had already qualified for the play-offs, the result was important from the perspective of confidence, with both teams clashing again tomorrow in the opening game of the next round.
