FOOTBALL: Surprise victory for Boys' Town over Portmore in Premier League
Boys' Town registered a surprise 3-0 victory over leaders Portmore United in the Red Striper Premier League competition at Juici Park in Clarendon yesterday.
Boys's Town were led to victory courtesy of a brace from Shamar Nicholson in the sixth and 61st minutes.
Peter Keys netted goal for Boys' Town in the 73rd minute.
In other games, Leon Strickland netted a double to lead defending champions Arnett Gardens to a 3-1 win over Harbour View.
Kemal Malcolm was the other scorer for the Jerome Waite-coached Arnett, while Nicholas Beckett scored the consolation goal for Harbour View.
The University of the West Indies (UWI) edged Cavalier 1-0.
Anthony Greenland netted the strike for the UWI.
Rivoli United and Humble Lion played out a 2-2 draw while play also ended 2-2 between Waterhouse and Tivoli Gardens.
Meanwhile, the competition continues today when last year's beaten finalist Montego Bay United and Reno clash in the Monday night game at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay.
