Middleweight Contender 2015 champion Kemahl Russell will fight Mexican Hector Nava in Mexico City tonight. This will bring to an end a period of overseas training for Russell. The training was designed to prepare him for some serious fight challenges next year.

Russell has been based in New York since late September, and told The Gleaner yesterday that he has had the benefit of working with some good trainers and sparring partners, and this has allowed him to sharpen his skills.

"I have learnt a lot, and I am a much better fighter now than when I left Jamaica. I am feeling great and will be putting everything into this fight so that I can return to Jamaica next week with another victory on my record " he continued.

His manager, Leiza Keane, told The Gleaner that she is very pleased with the progress that Russell has made over these past several months, and she expects a good performance from him tonight.
