CRICKET: WIPA congratulates female T20 player of the year Stafanie Taylor

Taylor ... currently playing for the Sydney Thunder in the Australia Women’s Big Bash and has been one of the leading batters in world cricket in recent years.

The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) has congratulated Jamaica and West Indies Women’s captain Stafanie Taylor on being named ICC Women’s International T20 Player of the Year.

WIPA's president and chief executive officer Wavell Hinds said Taylor is most deserving of this prestigious international award. 

According to Hinds, Taylor has been a consistent performer for the West Indies and continues to make the entire Caribbean cricketing community proud.

The 24-year-old Taylor, who  is currently playing for the Sydney Thunder in the Australia Women’s Big Bash has been one of the leading batters in world cricket in recent years.

She is currently sixth in the ICC T20 rankings and number four in One-Day Internationals.

Taylor, who won the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2011 and 2012, said the honour was a surprise and she is elated to have won it.

Taylor is the most successful woman cricketer in West Indies history.
