Ramires leaves Chelsea for China; Pato arrives
Brazil midfielder Ramires left Chelsea yesterday as compatriot Alexandre Pato arrived in London to join with the Premier League champions.
After more than five years at Chelsea, Ramires signed for Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning. The transfer fee, reported by China's official Xinhua News Agency to be around £25 million ($36 million), is a record for Chinese football.
Chelsea are set to add Pato to their squad until the end of the season. The forward flew in from Brazil to complete an expected loan move from Corinthians.
Durant hits 44 points for Thunder
NEW YORK (AP):
Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant scored a season-high 44 points, including the basket that tied the game in regulation time, and the Thunder went on to win 128-122 in overtime at the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
The Knicks put up a gallant showing without injured leading scorer Carmelo Anthony but the Thunder won to maintain a 13-game lead atop the NBA's Northwest Division, ahead of Portland, which had a home win against Sacramento.
Among other results, the Los Angeles Clippers held on to win narrowly at Indiana, and Toronto tied a franchise record with its ninth straight win, defeating Washington.
Oklahoma City's Durant hit the tying jumper with 16.2 seconds left in regulation, then scored seven points in overtime.
