Racers Track Club Grand Prix launched, set for June 11

The inaugural staging of the Racers Track Club Grand Prix is set for Saturday, June 11 at the National Stadium in Kingston.

The announcement was made by president of the Racers club Glen Mills at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel this morning. 

Triple Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt will headline the list of Racer's athletes who will be on show at the meet.

Bolt will be joined by compatriots Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake, Warren Weir, Hansle Parchment and world 100 metres hurdles female champion Danielle Williams.

Among the overseas stars who have been confirmed to participate at the meet are reining 400 metres world champion Wayde van Niekerk, along with Americans Lashawn Merritt and Jason Richardson and Trinidad and Tobago's Kelly Ann Baptise. 

Mills says the club's athletes stand to benefit significantly from the meet.
