Ryon Jones, Staff Reporter - DOHA:

Jamaican Omar McLeod lived up to the hype, as he was the only Jamaican winner at the opening Diamond League meet of the season staged in Doha, Qatar Friday.

"I feel good going up against such a world class field and I have so much respect for these guys, so each time I go out there I don't want to take it for granted," McLeod said.

In a less-than-technically-perfect display by the field, the 22-year-old came home in season best and world leading 13.05 to record victory on his Diamond League debut.

The another Jamaica athlete, Hansle Parchment was second with a season's best effort 13.10 seconds.

Third went to Spain's Orlando Ortega in 13.12.
