Thomas: It didn't go as well as I expected, as I wanted to go 14.50 or as close to my PR as possible.

Ryon Jones, Staff Reporter - DOHA:

Jamaica's Shanieka Thomas was left disappointed with her IAAF Diamond League debut after clearing a distance of 14.10 metres in the triple jump to finish sixth at the series opener in Doha, Qatar.

This was some way off her personal best of 14.57 which was set earlier this year.

"It didn't go as well as I expected, as I wanted to go 14.50 or as close to my PR as possible," Thomas said.

The event was won by Colombia’s Caterine Ibarguen with a meet record and world leading 15.04 meters to stretch her unbeaten wins to 32 competitions.

Yulimar Rojas with her leap of 14.62 broke the Venezuelan national record for second with Kazakhstan’s Olga Rypakova (14.61) third.
