This is a huge game for Manchester City, who received a boost on Monday night when rivals and neighbours Manchester United lost 3-2 in dramatic fashion to West Ham United. When they were leading 2-1, United were in fourth spot, but the Hammers' comeback means City go to South Wales knowing a win will cement Champions League football.

This is Manuel Pellegrini's final game as manager after three years at the Etihad Stadium. In his time there, City won three major trophies, the Barclays Premier League in 2013-14, as well as the League Cup twice, in that same season as well as this campaign.

Pellegrini, who also took City to the semi-finals of the Champions League, will be replaced next season by Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola. Guardiola has won six league titles with Barcelona and Bayern along with six domestic cups and eight European titles, including two Champions League successes.

Swansea, who looked in trouble until recently, have beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham in their last five games and Franceso Guidolin, the 60-year-old Italian head coach, who arrived in January, is expected to extend his stay in Wales.
