Dacres pleased with Diamond League experience

World Championships discus finalist Fedrick Dacres marked his first appearance on the IAAF Diamond League circuit with a fourth place finish the Golden Gala meet inside Rome’s Stadio Olimpico a short while ago.
Dacres landed the implement 63.50m on his second attempt to finish behind World Championships bronze medal winner Robert Urbanek (Poland), 65.00m and Victor Hogan (South Africa), 64.03m and Germany’s Robert Harting, 63.96m.
The Jamaican told The Gleaner he was happy with the experience, but is looking forward to continued improvement in the event.
“It’s a good experience to come here and get a chance to compete against the big guys other than at the championships so I am really thankful for the opportunity and I’m just trying to get better as time progresses,” Dacres said.
