Buzz Nightmare right, with Jockey Ian Spence aboard winning The G.A. 'Sarge' Bucknor Memorial Cup over 1000 metres straight at Caymanas Park on Saturday, June 4.

Following impressive back-to-back wins over the straight five course recently, the classy 4-y-o colt, BUZZ NIGHTMARE, ought to be followed when he takes on five opponents in the open allowance feature for the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Trophy over 1200 metres at Caymanas Park today.

The Philip Feanny-trained BUZZ NIGHTMARE will renew rivalry with CRUCIAL APPEAL and UPPA TUNE, both of whom chased him home in a fast-run straight five race on June 4 and renew rivalry on improved terms at the weights today.

Despite this, the speed of BUZZ NIGHTMARE should be a decisive factor in this small field. Additionally, Feanny has called up top 2.0kg claiming apprentice, Linton Steadman, to ease the weight a bit and now asked to carry 55.0kg, has nothing to complain about.

Still, this promises to be his sternest test to date. Over the straight, "BUZZ" could well be unbeatable, but he could be vulnerable over the round course to horses as good as CRUCIAL APPEAL and UPPA TUNE.

The Dwight Chen-trained CRUCIAL APPEAL captured the LADY GEETA Trophy grade one race over this trip a year ago and now running at a lower level, should make a brave bid. Indeed, he looks the principal danger to my selection, BUZZ NIGHTMARE, and should make it an interesting race. But the choice has to be BUZZ NIGHTMARE in present frame of mind.

The pre-derby race meet comprises 11 races, the first scheduled to be run at 12.10 p,m. Other firm fancies on the card are MY WAY in the third race; DRIPPING IN GOLD in the fifth; BIGBROWNGREYHOPE IN THE seventh; BARS OF GOLD in the eighth; and MIRACLE RIVER in division one of the Leslie Memorial Trophy.
