Quest to battle Belair in Scotiabank Prep Schools Cricket final
Quest got the better of St James, and Belair stopped Hydel to book their places in the final of the Scotiabank Prep Schools Cricket Competition set for Friday at the Lucas Cricket Ground.
Hydel won the toss and took first strike. They made 88 for four in their 20 overs on the back of Kevandre Virgo, 29, and Najair Byfield, 26. Darren Green was the main wicket taker with two for 19 in four overs.
Belair replied with 89 for six in 17.3 overs with Chadwick Bent, 26, topscoring and got good support from Darren Green, 17.
Virgo came back to lead the bowling, taking two for 17 in his 4 overs.
The second match between the national defending champion and Surrey county winner Quest and Cornwall county winner St James Prep was nail-biting to the last over. Quest was put in to bat by St. James and made one of their lowest scores of 97 all out in 19.3 overs of their 25 allotted overs.
Jahiem Plant, 12, and Kimani Maxwell, 10, were the only players to get into double figures.
Anil Braham led the bowling with four for 28 in 5 overs.
St James Prep then replied with 49 all out in just 14.2 overs, losing the match to Quest by 48 runs.
