Webb playing volleyball in Qatar
Rick Webb, the former St Jago High School volleyball star, is playing the game professionally in Qatar.
Here at home during the summer break of the Qatar volleyball season, Webb said he is learning a lot from the experience.
Speaking at a recent tournament played on the University of the West Indies, Mona campus, the lanky Jamaican said he would recommend it to anyone.
Webb has a five-year contract with the Al-Wakrah Sports Club and said volleyball there is very structured.
"They have volleyball down to the science," he said.
"When it comes to eating, sleeping, how you work out, different drills. It's a lot different from here. It's extremely structured."
He believes the experience is helping him to improve.
"Learning to be disciplined while on and off the court is definitely important," he said.
Webb recommended the Qatari volleyball scene to other aspiring players.
"I'd encourage anybody, if you can get the opportunity, you should definitely try it," he said.
He will be playing local tournaments for Venus Volleyball Club until he returns to Qatar in September.
