All Correct poised for overdue victory

Shane Dalling (left), makes a point during conversation with sports minister, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange and 15-time champion trainer Wayne DaCosta during last Saturdays’ Cal’s Derby Day meet at Caymanas Park. DaCosta was honoured by CTL and Cal’s, for his record breaking achievements, along with five-time champion jockey Trevor Simpson.

Only eight races are slated for Caymanas Park today and with no trophy race in the offing, the three-year-old and up overnight allowance race over 1820 metres moves into the spotlight as the day's feature.

Eight mostly fit horses have been declared and indications are that ALL CORRECT, who has been knocking at the door in recent weeks as favourite, will recoup losses with former champion jockey Omar Walker riding for 15-time champion trainer Wayne DaCosta.

A former grade one campaigner, ALL CORRECT was installed a 4-5 favourite to win over 1300 metres last Saturday, but was run off his legs by the speedsters and ended up 3 1/2 lengths third to the fast-time winner HOLOGRAM SHADOW, with BERRANCA second. Prior to that he beat all barring BRAWN over a mile on June 11, a performance that puts him in good stead for this race.

Most significantly, however, is the fact that ALL CORRECT recorded his last win over this trip on New Year's Day when landing the Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) Fan Appreciation Day Trophy in overnight company, having some good horses behind in the process.

He apparently has a lot in his favour today and given this more relaxed pace, should prove too strong for RAGING PROSPECT (regaining form) and the 2015 Oaks winner, MOM'S STUDENT, who is coming off a recent post to post win in the Valbert Marlowe Memorial Cup over 1800 metres.

Other firm fancies on the card are PROLIFIC PRINCESS in the opening race over 1200 metres; OMEGA in the third; UNCLE BUNNY to romp the sixth for maiden three-year-olds; and BABY P in the eighth and final.
