GraceKennedy Foods, a division of the GraceKennedy Group, will again be the official food and nutrition sponsor of the 2016 Jamaica Olympic team in Brazil.

Grace will provide food and nutrition for the team during the 12-day camp leading up to the start of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on August 5.

Andrea Coy, chief executive officer of GraceKennedy Foods, Jamaica, said that her company is happy to be back on board.

GRACE FOODS PLEASED

"Grace Foods is truly honoured to again be playing such a critical role in the well-being of our athletes. We will be bringing good-quality Jamaican food to our athletes in Rio as we believe that this will help them to give of their best," Coy said during a media briefing session at GraceKennedy's head offices yesterday.

Chef Karl Thomas, who represented Grace Foods at the 2012 Olympic Games, will be brought in once again to oversee the preparation of meals for the athletes.

Jamaica Olympic Association president Michael Fennell said it is a fantastic to have Grace Foods back.

"This is absolutely fantastic! The more we can provide nutrition similar to home is always good for the athletes. Grace assisted us initially in 2012, but this is bigger," Fennell pointed out.
