MONTE CARLO, Monaco:
Jamaican champion, Damar Forbes, notched only his second Diamond League victory after registering a new season best of 8.23m to win the men’s long jump at the Herculis meet in  Monaco.

“It is always a good thing to come out here and beat guys who have been on the circuit for a long time,” Forbes said. I have been struggling with injuries all these years, so it kind of shows what kind of form I would be in if I wasn’t struggling, so I just have to build on it.”

Forbes’ mark, which was just .02m outside of his lifetime best, saw him finish ahead of 2015 IAAF World Championships silver medalist Fabrice Lapiere of Australia. Lapiere, who assumed leadership of the Diamond Race in the absence of American Marquise Goodwin, biggest jump on the evening was 8.21m.

Asian champion, Gao Xinglong out of China effort of 7.96m saw him place third.
