A masterful half-century from Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakara piloted the Jamaica Tallawahs to a commanding 183 for six off their allotted 20 overs after being sent in to bat by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their HERO Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 match at Sabina Park.

Sangakara hit 65 off 47 balls, including two well-timed sixes and seven delightful fours to lead the batting along with emerging 22-year- old batsman Rovman Powell, 35, and Bangladeshi Shakib Al Hasan, who ended unbeaten on 34.

Captain Chris Gayle was back in the pavilion very early for one run.

Bowling for the St Kitts Patriots, Jamaica-born left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie finished with three for 24 off his four overs, while their was a wicket each for another Jamaica-born, fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell, and South African left-arm wrist spinner, Tabraiz Shamsi.
