The biggest jump of the reigning national champion Damar Forbes was 7.82m on his final attempt.

Damar Forbes had to settle for 12th position in the men’s long jump at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The biggest jump of the reigning national champion was 7.82m on his final attempt.

Forbes, who has a season's best 8.23m and a personal best of 8.25m.

James Beckford is the only other Jamaican male to reach the final of the long jump at the Olympics.

Beckford landed a silver medal in 1996.
