Jamaica will not be represented in the finals of the women’s 100m hurdles at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This after the trio of Shermaine Williams, Nickiesha Wilson and national champion Megan Simmonds finished fifth, seventh and fifth in their respective semi-finals.

All three races were won by Americans Brianna Rollins, Nia Ali and Kristi Castlin respectively.

Speaking after the race, Simmonds said she was grateful for the opportunity to represent her country at the Olympics.

“I can’t complain. I am grateful I was able to come here and compete,” said the first-time Olympian.

“I got out ahead, but it happens sometimes,” Simmonds said, summing up her race.

The final is scheduled for later this evening.
