After dismal performances in their past two overseas assignments in New Zealand and Australia, Jamaica's Sunshine Girls will be hoping to redeem themselves when they depart the island later this month to take on world No. 3 England in a three-Test series in England.

Ranked at No. 4, the Sunshine Girls will be hoping for better performances on this trip, and yesterday, Netball Jamaica released the names of 12 players, headed by the

very experienced Jhaniele Fowler-Reid. Fowler-Reid, who missed the past two overseas assignments, has been drafted to shore up the shooting area. Accompanying her will be Shantal Slater, Shanice Beckford, and Hasana Williams.

Veteran Paula Thompson has been called out of retirement to strengthen the centre court, where she will be supported by Khadijah Williams, Adean Thomas, and Carlalee Tingling.

In defence, there will be the vastly experienced duo of Malysha Kelly and Vangelee Williams, alongside Stacian Facey and Shamera Sterling.

Jamaica Netball Association President

Dr Paula Daley-Morris has expressed her satisfaction with the squad selected.

"We do have a stronger and well-rounded unit from that which went to New Zealand. We are happy to have Fowler-Reid back in the squad, and with her experience, we expect better coordination with Slater and Beckford. We had some problems in the centre court, and this time around we expect better results than in New Zealand," said Daley-Morris.

The squad will depart the island on November 23 and will return on December 5.
