PHOENIX, Arizona (CMC):

Andrew Ramgeet kept up the pressure on leading jockey Scott Stevens with a pair of wins on Wednesday at Turf Paradise.

The Jamaica-born Ramgeet fortified his hold on second position at the racetrack located in the capital of this south-western American state with his second straight double, moving his season tally to 37 wins - eight behind Stevens.

Ramgeet guided the odds-on favourite Not That I Recall to an easy, nine-length victory in the US$12,500 second race over 1,100 metres on the dirt track.

He put the two-year-old, chestnut filly to stalk the pace before making a bid from the inside on the final turn and assuming command in the lane for drive the animal to the line in a time of one minute, 05.30 seconds.

Ramgeet later produced the 4-5 favourite Frat Boy in the final stretch to take a comfortable six-length victory in the US$7,100 sixth race which was contested over 1,600m, also on the dirt.

Frat Boy was taken back at the start and kept in the middle of the pack before Ramgeet advanced the four-year-old, dark bay gelding in the second turn.

They, however, ran into traffic and bided their time until they were able to rally three across and take control in the lane to draw off and stop the clock at 1:39.84 seconds.
