CHICAGO, Illinois (CMC):

The United States Soccer Federation has announced new dates for its home matches in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying during the month of June next year.

The adjustments mean that its qualifier against the Trinidad & Tobago Soca Warriors will now take place on June 8, a day earlier than scheduled.

US Soccer said the change of dates was to accommodate Mexico's participation in the FIFA Confederations Cup.

The United States face the Mexicans in another World Cup qualifier three days later, two days ahead of the original date, as the visitors will then travel to Kazan, Russia, for the Confed Cup, where they will open against Portugal on June 18.

The Americans are looking to rebound from losses in their opening two games in the final round of the North, Central American and Caribbean qualification for the 2018 World Cup, also in Russia.
