Maverley-Hughenden, Waterhouse in Boulevard clash

Promoted Maverley-Hughenden will look to step out of the Red Stripe Premier League's relegation zone when they face neighbouring Waterhouse in a battle of the Washington Boulevard-based teams at Constant Spring Complex in St Andrew, today, starting at 3:30 p.m.

Neither team is doing particularly well with Maverley-Hughenden struggling in eleventh place on 24 points and Waterhouse sitting on 28 points in eight position.

The Maverley team are yet to beat their neighbours this season, losing 2-1 and drawing 1-1 in their two previous meetings.

With seven games remaining before the conclusion of the third and final round of preliminary games, Maverley-will have to come all out for a win.

It will be a tall task for the Anthony Patrick-coached team as they have not won in the last ten games. Maverley's last victory was a 1-0 result against Arnett Gardens on November 18.

Meanwhile, Waterhouse have been unbeaten in the last seven games, and are growing in confidence since Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey replaced Marvin Tate as coach late last year.

In the day's other game, Humble Lion will face Harbour View at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon.
