Jamalco have been relegated from the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) after only one season in top flight football.

The Jamalco team ended 1-1 against Harbour View during Wednesday's penultimate round but that result was not good enough for the Clarendon-based outfit as other results did not favour them.

Jamalco are rooted at the bottom on 30 points, behind Maverley-Hughenden (32), Waterhouse (34) and Boys' Town (35) - the other teams in relegation trouble.

With the final set of preliminary games to be played on Sunday, Jamalco cannot surpass two teams that are above them,

Jamalco gained promotion from the Jamaica Football Federation play-offs last season. They started the RSPL season well by winning three games from their first four fixtures, but faltered soon after.

They have won nine games, drawn three times and lost a league high 20 games in 32 matches.

Jamalco will travel to Montego Bay United in their final fixture for the RSPL season.
