Twenty-one year-old French tennis player Maxime Hamou's accreditation has been cancelled by organisers of the French Open after he forcibly kissed a female reporter several times on her cheek during a live television interview.

Hamou kissed journalist Maly Thomas, while aggressively holding her around her neck and shoulders, despite her efforts to wriggle free.

The French Tennis Federation (FTT) has ordered an investigation into the incident and condemned the player for what it described as "reprehensible behaviour".

The incident took place following his First Round elimination.
