Burrell funeral set for National Arena

The funeral for the late president of the Jamaica Football Federation, Captain Horace Burrell, will held on June 28 at the National Arena.

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, in announcing the date for the funeral in Parliament yesterday, said the government will work with the Burrell family to plan the service of thanksgiving which is set to start at 10 a.m..

Minister Grange said: "Our country owes Captain Burrell a huge debt of gratitude for his work.

"In this regard, I am pleased to announce that Captain Burrell's family will have 100 per cent support from the Government and from my ministry to assist in planning his funeral.

"A committee has been established which includes the JFF, the staff of the Ministry of Sports, and his family to make those arrangements."

The service of thanksgiving for Burrell will be preceded by a tribute concert, in keeping with the family's wish for a celebratory event. Interment will be at Up Park Camp.
