Independence City join Naggo Head in final


Independence City Primary stormed into the final of the Jamaica Cricket Association Primary Cricket League cricket competition after a 29-run win over arch-rivals Bridgeport in a top-of-the-tables clash at the Bridgeport Sports ground recently.

Scores: Independence City 118 all out, Devon Venson 47, Jaheem Johnson 20; Shakeem Wilson 3 for two; Omario Thompson 3-36.

Bridgeport 89 all out, Shakeem Wilson 21; Jay Barnes 4-9; Venson 3-17. Independence City Primary's opponents in the final will be Naggo Head Primary. They knocked out defending champions Gregory Park in another top-of-the-tables encounter. The final will be played on Tuesday, June 20, at the same venue, match time 10 a.m.

Goals galore in Sharkies Futsal

Some 42 goals were scored in four matches in the opening round of the Sharkies Futsal competition in Runner way Bay, in Ocho Rios, St Ann recently. Romario Sutton scored an hat-trick of goals as Ocean Carnival Strikers hammered Third Eye Kickers 7-2; Xavy Smart notched three goals but his team Alexandria went down 6-5 to Cool Kids; Colour Colour thumped Rockets FC 7-4 as Roshaine Henry scored three times, while Carl Rattray Correctional Services Staff College clipped Hyperzone 6-5.
