Usain Bolt will face compatriot Omar McLeod over 100 metres in the Monaco Diamond League meet on Friday.

It’s Bolt’s final competitive race before next month’s IAAF World Championships in London, where he is down to compete in the short sprint and the 4x100m. Also in the race are South Africa’s Akani Simbine and Isiah Young of the United States. Both have faster season’s best times than the Jamaican super star. Bolt’s best this year is 10.03 seconds, while Simbine has gone down to 9.92 and Young has a 2017 best of 9.97.

Also down to compete in Monaco are the Jamaicans Leah Nugent in the 400m hurdles, World champion Danielle Williams in the 100m hurdles, and triple jumper Kimberly Williams.

Danielle Williams is steadily preparing to defend her title, but on Friday, she will meet a very tough field which includes American world record holder Kendra Harrison with a season’s best 12.28, her compatriots Nia Ali 12.52, Sharika Nelvis 12.53 and Jasmin Stowers 12.47. Australia’s Sally Pearson (12.48) will also line up in the event.

The women’s 400m hurdles field includes two Americans who have gone below 53 seconds this year, Shamier Little (52.75) and Kori Carter, 52.95. Another American, Ashley Spencer, has clocked 53.11. Nugent’s season’s best is 54.54.
