Chevonne 'Messi' Marsh is one of three overseas players signed by Cavalier ahead of the 2017-18 Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) season.

The 23-year-old Marsh, who played the last two seasons for Kokkolan Palloveikot in the Finnish Ykkonen league, was the star for the club before his departure last year and technical director Rudolph Speid, said with the inclusion of Marsh and the addition of former national youth players David Mitchell and Romario Jones, they will be aiming for nothing less than a top six finish next season.

"We are not in the market big time, but who we have confirmed are David Mitchell, Romario Jones and Marsh. Mitchell is a former national Under-20 player while Jones played at Under-17 and Under-20 levels.

"We started training about three weeks now, but a lot of people have been turning up for trails, so we are just looking at players for now. But all in all, we should bring in about ten players ... and with the players we have our aim is top six," he said.

Speid said they have so far assembled a very strong squad while staying true to his youth philosophy.

"Wolmer's winger Mikhail Graham will be added to the squad, while Jerome Smith has returned from his season long injury lay-off after successful knee surgery. These are top players that can make the cut right away," he said.
