Perennial daCosta Cup favourites Cornwall College will visit Irwin High School in Zone A of the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup competition this afternoon. Kick-off time is 3:30 o'clock.

Defending champions Cornwall will be hunting their second win in this year's competition after a commanding opener of the daCosta Cup season at Montego Bay Sports Complex on Saturday against Green Pond High School.

Cornwall College showed on Saturday that they have a lot of depth in the squad as Coach Dr Dean Weatherly had one of his standout players, Garnett Hudson, coming off the bench and Shavon McDonald, one of the starting forwards, scoring a hat-trick in the 4-1 victory.

It was evident that Hudson is the 'beast of a player' when he came and created all sorts of problems for the already tired Green Pond High defence. He was backed by MacDonald, the driving Aiden Jokomba on the right and meticulous movement of the ball in the middle by captain Giovauni Reid.

Cornwall's last encounter with Irwin High ended with the defending champions winning 2-1. Today, with Cornwall's attacking depth, Irwin will have to be at their best in defence to prevent them from posting a big win.

The key man in defence for Irwin, is centre-half Michael Pratt who gave a stalwart performance in their losing effort against former champions St James High on Monday.

Also in Zone A, Maldon High will host the Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore-coached St James High, and Anchovy High will play away to Green Pond High.
