Western Bureau:

Cornwall College scored their third straight victory in the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup yesterday after clipping rivals St James High 2-1 in the cross town Zone A derby at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
It was a very exciting match between two of the western parish's top teams.
Cornwall took an early lead when Pagiel Brown found the back of the St James High net in the third minute of the game. St James High intensified their attacks as they went after the equaliser but had problems beating Devian Peterkin the Cornwall goalkeeper.
Cornwall went two up in the 71st minute when Michael ‘Big Boot’ Heaven pierced the stubborn St James High defence.
Despite the two-goal deficit, St James High continued to fight and stepped up their pace. They were rewarded with a consolation goal when Cornwall’s Calvin Gardner committed a foul in the box and Cal-Wayne Allen put the resulting penalty past Peterkin.
With the win Cornwall have opened a three-point gap at the top of the group standings. They are now on nine points, three ahead of St James High.
Winning coach Dr Dean Weatherly was delighted with the win but criticised his experienced players.
"We came out with the win but I think our senior players did not perform and thankfully our bench held us up. The junior players gave us a good performance and that shows our strength," Weatherly said.
