Holy Trinity's captain Shai Smith led from the front with a hat-trick as his team rolled over Clan Carthy High 5-0 in ISSA/FLOW Manning Cup Group F action at Alpha Boys Institute yesterday.

Smith scored in the sixth, 52nd and 81st minutes while Phillon Lawrence (33rd) and Dillon McEnnis (81st) helped the winners to three consecutive wins from three games in the group. Holy Trinity lead with maximum nine points.

Coach of Holy Trinity, Devon 'Pablo' Anderson, was unhappy with the final score yesterday as he said his skipper and main striker wasted some easy chances.

"I'm still disgruntled. We got five clear chances in the first ten minutes and only scored one. Our ace talisman (Smith) is expected to do better," a visibly upset Anderson told The Gleaner after the game.

"He (Smith) is experienced and has the ability to do better. He needs to be composed in front of goal and stop trying fancy things," Anderson said.

Meanwhile, Smith was very pleased with the hat-trick which pushed his goal tally to four from three games.

"I feel excited about the goals and winning the game. I missed some, but chances come and go," he reasoned. 'I'm happy for the team as team-work makes the dream work," the 18 year-old added.

Smith said he is looking forward to leading Holy Trinity to the Manning Cup and Super Cup titles this year.

Clan Carthy were woeful in defence and their goalkeeper Deandre Thompson gave up two soft goals when the ball slipped through his hands.
