Usain Bolt worked with the speed and efficiency he showed on the track at yesterday's autograph signing of the book - Usain Bolt: Legend - at Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records, Constant Spring Road.

In the hour-long session that started at 1 p.m., Bolt went at world record pace in order to sign as many copies of the book as possible for the many persons who turned out. The book was produced by The Gleaner Company (Media) Limited, a member of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, in conjunction with Ian Randle Publishers to celebrate the sprint star's retirement from competitive racing.

"It is always good. I try to do as much as possible for my fans. I am very happy that I was able to get some books signed today," Bolt told The Gleaner following the session. "I am happy that the people came out," he added.

Fans, young and old, turned up. And, they were all delighted to have their books signed by the World and Olympic champion.

"It was wonderful what happened today with the book signing by Bolt. I wish he could have spent a little more time. My son is home-schooled and I took him here to meet Bolt, but that was tight. I was hoping that my son (Joshua) could have talked to him and get a little motivation from him, but just seeing him was good enough motivation for now," Andrea Housein said.

Patrick Brownie described the occasion as wonderful.

"He is an inspiration to the youth of Jamaica. He has worn his crown so graciously. It was a little hard getting up here because there are so many people who wanted it, but it was a great honour," Brownie added.

"It was an electrifying feeling for me today. I am just really thrilled to meet him for the first time. I bought some books and got them signed for my grandchildren," another fan, Kay Francis, said.

More than 200 images - including rare and never-before-seen photographs of Bolt in several settings, can be found in the book, which also features text from leading writers on a range of topics which touch on Bolt and his family, his influence, his future, and his interactions with fans.
