Sunshine Girls in top form at Fast5

Jamaica's Sunshine Girls are on course to secure their first hold on the Fast5 Netball World Series title in Melbourne, Australia, after recording three victories on today's (last night Jamaica time) opening day of competition.

The Sunshine Girls, who are being led by experienced shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid, defeated South Africa 37-29 in their opening match.  The Jamaicans, who are ranked fourth in the world, then recorded a close 26-23 victory over hosts Australia for their second win of the tournament. 

The Sunshine Girls, who are being coached by Sasher-Gaye Henry and Marvette Anderson, closed out the day by easing past Malawi 31-24.
  

Jamaica will square off against New Zealand on Sunday 1:45 p.m. (Saturday 9:45 p.m. Jamaica time). They will then close out the preliminary round against England at 4 p.m. Sunday. (Midnight  Saturday, Jamaica time).
