JFF to participate in CONCACAF Women's Football Day
CONCACAF will be hosting its third, annual Women's Football Day on Saturday, November 18. The Women's Football Day unites all members in the confederation to inspire women and girls to play football.
The Jamaica Football Federation has committed to celebrate the day with the other member associations in the region. On the day, all associations will kick off preparations for the 2018 CONCACAF U-15 Girl Championship.
The JFF has invited each of the 13 parish associations to send 10 girls born on or before January 1, 2003 to participate in a day of activities to be held at the UWI-JFF Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence. The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will consist of a technical session; games involving the 130 girls, and climax with two All Star games.
The JFF intends to utilise the day's activities to identify players for the National Under 15 Girls' squad to begin preparations for the 2018 CONCACAF U-15 Girls Championship.
The day's activities will be under the direction of Director of Football Wendell Downswell and will involve a number of coaches involved in the female game, some of whom were part of a recent FIFA coaching course for women's football.
