Rodgers, Archibald clash at GC Foster

When the second staging of the G.C. Foster College 5K road race gets under way today at 2 p.m., a lot of focus will be on Kingston College's Ari Rodgers and Oshane Archibald of G.C. Foster College.

Both have been impressive on the road, and are unbeaten, and will clash for the first time this season. Winner of the UWI CB, Digicel, Tru Juice, Sigma and GraceKennedy Education Run, Archibald will be hoping to remain on the winning trail. He will be even more confident doing so at home.

However, he will face a confident Rodgers, who will be hoping to successfully defend the title he won at last year's inaugural run.

Rodgers' recent wins include the Fortis 5K and the Pump It Mico 5K and it should start favourite to retain his title.

It should be smooth sailing for Hydel High's Monifa Green in the women's race. The defending champion outclassed her rivals, including G.C. Foster's Shanice Gordon, at the Mico Pump It Up 5K. Gordon had earlier won the Church Teachers' College and the UWI CB 5K.

The event will start at the G.C. Foster College's main entrance gate.
