The Jamaica Crocs rugby union team has qualified for next year's Rugby World Cup Sevens and three other competitions to take place next year. This was after winning the 2017 Rugby Americas North Sevens (RANS) Tournament which was played at Estadio Campo Marte in Mexico at the weekend.

The Jamaicans defeated the hosts 24-14 in the semi final and then Guyana 28-25 in the grand finale to also advance to next year's Hong Kong Sevens tournament, the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organisation (CASCO) Games and the Commonwealth Games set for the Gold Coast in Australia in April next year.

The Jamaica Lady Crocs also gave a creditable showing in Mexico, returning with the bronze medal after finishing third in their tournament.
