Another nail in BT's coffin
Coach Andrew Price admitted yesterday that Boys' Town's 1-0 defeat by Reno at Frome Sports Club has made the struggle to avoid relegation from the Red Stripe Premier League even harder.
"One of the things that has affected us throughout the season is that we haven't been able to concentrate for 90 minutes, and to let in a goal today in time added (92nd minute) is definitely a nail in the coffin. However, we are going to keep fighting until it is mathematically impossible. There are still seven more games to go," Price said.
Reno's coach, Vassell Reynolds, said they were happy for the three points and are looking forward to putting together a winning run.
"It's close, and we figure that it will go down to the wire. Before this game, we sat down, assessed the situation, and we decided to aim at a two- or three-game winning run to get us into the top six so this was a good result to start with," said Reynolds.
Reno found it hard to get the better of a team that has been struggling all season, but were rescued when substitute Donovon Brown sent a low shot in the bottom right corner of Boys' Town goal in the second minute of injury time.
With yesterday's win, Reno moved up to sixth with 33 points, while Boys' Town remained at the bottom of the 12-team table on 14.
