Knights hunt second straight win
Defending champions Urban Knights will be aiming for their second straight victory in the National Basketball League (NBL) competition when they take on St George's at the Pembroke hall Community Court, starting at 7:45 p.m. tonight.
In the opening match of the double-header, Spanish Town Spartans will face host Pembroke Hall at 6 p.m.
The Knights, who are coming off an easy victory over pre-season favourites Upper Room Eagles last Thursday, have been rounding into form since their opening game defeat to Runnin Rebels.
"We are growing from strength to strength," said Kevin Alexander, manager of the Knights. "The return of Omar Barnes is a plus for us because he top-scored in our last game, and he also brought a lot of energy to the team, which the younger players feed off, and this has helped to inspire the team."
"The Saints is a very good team, but I think that they are a little inconsistent. They have talented players, however, as the defending champions, everybody wants your scalp, and so we expect a tough game," Alexander added.
The Saints recorded their first win of the season on Saturday against Tivoli Wizards, and captain Jason Moses said he is expecting a good showing from his team.
"We have been having some injuries at the early part of the season, but I am expecting us to come out fighting with a lot of energy on the defensive end and trying and forcing some turnovers and capitalise on that," said Moses.
