Shantae Foreman of Excelsior High School soared to 1.80m to break her record in the Class Three high jump final at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships on Thursday.

Foreman erased her previous mark of 1.79m, which she did last year to retain her title.

Annishka McDonald of Vere Technical finished second with 1.71m, while Daniel Hinds, Foreman's team-mate, finished third with 1.65m

Foreman attempted to clear 1.82m, the qualifying mark for the World Under-20 Championships, but failed on all three attempts.

She said she will be shooting for the mark at The Carifta Games next week.

"I really wanted to clear 1.82, but I believe I will do it at Carifta," Foreman told The Gleaner.
