IAAF World U20 | Salmon flies into 400mH final as fastest qualifier
Female team captain Shian Salmon was in immaculate form earlier today at the IAAF World Under 20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.
Salmon produced a commanding run in the semi-finals of the Women's 400m hurdles, advancing as the fastest qualifier for tomorrow's final.
The Hydel High student was quickly away from her rivals to score a convincing win in 56.29 seconds.
World leader and IAAF World Under 18 champion Zeney Van Der Walt was the second fastest qualifier, after winning her heat in 56.72 seconds.
There was some disappointment for Jamaica, as IAAF World Under 18 silver medallist Sanique Walker, who was down to face the start in the third semi, did not show up due to an injury.
