IAAF World Under 20 | Taylor, Salmon win silver medals; bronze for Sawyers
Jamaica picked up another three medals in Friday's evening session at the IAAF World Under 20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.
Christopher Taylor and Shiann Salmon won silver in the men's 400m and women's 400m hurdles respectively, with Chantz Sawyers following Taylor to the line and taking the bronze in the one lap flat event.
Taylor, who clocked 45.38, got out to a strong start but was reeled in by gold medal winner Jonathan Sacour, who posted a quick 45.03 seconds, with Sawyers, 45.89, holding on for the final podium spot.
Salmon, 56.11, also had a strong start in the 400m hurdles final, but after keeping company with South African Zeney Van Der Walt, who clocked 55.34. Third place went to Yasmin Giger from Switzerland in 56.98.
The Jamaicans now have seven medals at the championships, two gold, two silver and three bronze.
