Big clashes in BPL cricket

Two big clashes are on today in the first round of the Costley Construction St Mary Boscobel Premier League (BPL) T20 cricket competition at the Boscobel cricket ground.

In the opening encounter at 9:30 a.m., highly fancied Day's Mountain Strikers tackle the dangerous Jack's River Razors, while in the feature match at 1: 30 p.m. Port Maria Turbos clash with Mango Valley Lions.

In the first match of the competition, which is also sponsored by Chem Quip Water Treatment, Juta Tours, 7 Eleven Meat & Next, Boscobel Hardware, Sir B's Auto and Mayor Richard Creary, Jack's River will be led by Richardo 'Chu Chu' Thompson, Michael Downer, Fitzroy Walker and Kemar Silvera, while Day's Mountain, which boast a star-studded line-up, will parade Samuel McIntosh, Jesse Alexander, the Bryce brothers Damion and Andre, Kedar Brown and Renar Ross.

The feature match promises to be another exciting affair as Port Maria are set to parade national player Aldane 'Zum' Thomas, Richard Creary, and parish skipper Andre Creary, with Mango Valley boosted by the presence of top batsman Durrent Whyte, all-rounder Ellando Robison, Milton Milts and Brian Robinson.
