JFF, Caribbean Airlines announce Reggae Girlz partnership
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and Caribbean Airlines are pleased to announce a partnership, which will position the airline as the 'Official Airline of the Reggae Girlz'.
The partnership comes at a very opportune time as Jamaica's Reggae Girlz will be very active in 2019. The history-making Senior Reggae Girlz will be participating in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, and the National Under-17 and Under-20 Reggae Girlz will begin their own campaign for World Cup glory, beginning at the Caribbean and Concacaf levels.
President of the JFF, Michael Ricketts, expressed his delight at the partnership and thanked Caribbean Airlines for coming "on board" at a time of critical need. He urged other corporate entities to follow the lead of Caribbean Airlines in supporting the women's programme.
Focus on women's football
"There is a lot of focus on the women's programme, starting with FIFA, and the JFF is also ensuring that the country's very talented women footballers are facilitated to do their best and make the country and the region proud.
The JFF cannot do it alone, and the support of Caribbean Airlines and others is very much appreciated. Caribbean Airlines has once again shown why it is a leader in the region," said Ricketts.
Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Medera hailed the Reggae Girlz's spirit and described the Women's World Cup-bound team as an inspiration for the entire region.
"We are honoured to join the Reggae Girlz on their truly extraordinary journey. The team represents the quintessential spirit of Jamaica; the work ethic, the verve, and the optimism.
The Reggae Girlz have inspired us all, and Caribbean Airlines is honoured to support the mission as they continue to show the world what they can do," Medera.
