Boscobel, Mango Valley clash in St Mary cricket final

Boscobel Warriors and Mango Valley Lions will meet in a clash of the titans in the grand final of the Costly Construction-sponsored St Mary Boscobel Premier League T20 tournament at the Boscobel Oval today. Match time is noon.

In the third-place play-off beginning at 9:30 a.m., Port Maria Turbos will battle Days Mountain Strikers.

The feature match promises to be an exciting encounter, with defending champions Boscobel looking to national player Alywn Williams, Tyrone Daley, Maurice Harrow and Robert Weir to lead then to victory, while their opponents will have Elllando Robinson, Mikael Downer and Durrent Whyte as their main stars.

Both teams reached the final in contrasting style. In their semi-final, Mango Valley easily defeated Days Mountain by 38 runs. Batting first, Mango Valley powered their way to 180 for 7 in their 20 overs. They then dismissed Days Mountain for 143.

In their semi-final against Port Maria, Boscobel pulled off a close four-run win. Boscobel struggled to 129 for nine in their 20 overs, and Port Maria were cruising along before their innings closed on 125 for eight.
