Chelsea forced to wait for Higuain
Gonzalo Higuain will not fly out to London until at least Tuesday.
Before he is allowed to join Chelsea from Milan, the Italians must secure his replacement Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa.
With talks between Milan and Genoa put off until Tuesday, Higuain will have to wait before he can put pen to paper and reunite with former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Milan are expected to sign the in-form Piatek for €35m plus bonuses and midfielder Alen Halilovic, but won't be completed for several more days.
Higuain is technically owned by Juventus, who sent him to Milan on loan over the summer for €18m with option to buy for another €36m.
Bayern return with win
SINSHEIM, Germany (AP):
Bayern Munich got the Bundesliga back underway with a 3-1 win at Hoffenheim yesterday to deliver a statement of intent to leaders Borussia Dortmund.
Robert Lewandowski sealed the victory late on to cut the gap on his former team to three points after 18 games. It was the defending champion's sixth league win in succession, stabilising the side after an early-season wobble.
"We're the chasers and we want to hunt them," Bayern coach Niko Kovac said. "We want to be champions."
Leon Goretzka scored twice in the first half, the first from a rebound, then after a corner, as Bayern performed impressively in the league's first match after a winter break of almost four weeks.
