National representative Justin Burrowes pulled out all the stops to shoot an impressive four under par 68 today in the third round of the Latin America Amateur Championships (LAAC) yesterday.

Burrowes' 68 is the best score posted by a Jamaican at this event. He carded seven birdies, eight pars, and three bogeys. He enters today's final day tied in 23rd position with five other players. His three-day score (73, 76, 68) totals 217.

Burrowes made the cut after two days, vying against more than competitors, to stay among the top 50 players.

At the top of the leader board are Alvaro Ortiz (Mexico) on 208, Luis Fernando Barco (Peru), and Agustin Errazuriz (Chile) tied in second on 209, and Luis Gagne (Costa Rica) in fourth position with 210 strokes.

The tournament is being played at Teeth of The Dog, Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic. The event, which began in 2014, is a collaboration of the Masters Tournament, The Royal & Ancient Golf Club, and the US Golf Association and is designed to develop amateur golf in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The region's finest golfers test their skills in this premier tournament.
