Qualcare sponsors KC’s track team
Dave Myrie, principal of Kingston College (KC), expressed his delight after Qualcare, through its nutrition shake Intrust, made a presentation of products to the school’s track-and-field programme recently.
Danielle Wright, consumer manager of Qualcare, handed over her company’s products to Myrie during a press briefing at the school’s North Street compound.
Wright, whose company also sponsored KC’s Manning Cup team last season, said that the sponsorship will run until the end of the season and as her company was very delighted to be associated with the institution once again.
“We see where nutrition has to play an important role overall in an athlete’s life. In whatever sport they do, you have to make sure that your nutrition is up,” said Wright.
“We chose Kingston College again because they have been doing very well and we want to continue to help them to do well,” she said. “We have also made donations to other schools including like Holy Trinity, Manchester High and Jamaica College and so we continue to support nutrition overall for our student athletes because at the end of the day want them to perform effectively,” Wright added.
Myrie said the sponsorship will help to ease the financial burden on his institution. “This is a very positive thing because training requires quite a lot of energy and a lot of effort and if the guys are training then they need to be getting proper nutritional input as well,” said Myrie. “This sponsorship from Qualcare is very important because Intrust carries a lot of nutrients and vitamins as well as an energy booster and so I am very pleased that Qualcare has come on board to support our boys.”
